| March 26/2007
Okay, well today was pretty cool.
I got woken up at like.. 7:40am by the telephone.. 20 minutes before my alarm went This phone call was the first indication to the weird day that I was going to have.
Anyways, so did all my normal stuff and in ENGLISH, which was period 1.. we had to do some presentation thingy.. and yeah.. it was pretty boring cause I finished my part. So at the end of the class, he had a "surprise" quiz type of thing and well everything was easy since we got tested on the book, A Serparate Peace except for the very last 9 questions which are all VOCABULARY DEFINITIONS... So yeah.. I didn't do the first initial set of vocabulary words so I bombed that part and I'm probably going to get close to failing on that test..
So anyways, pretty standard day... went to chemistry next.. and yeah chilled and stuff. I love our teacher there, Mr. Nickell, he is the man, I think he should be a comedian.. a chemistry comedian lol.
So as soon as the bell rang and the class had finished, I hurried downstairs and went to subway anticipating the rush to avoid the bigger rush.. lol. So I entered the building and there were like 4 people ahead of me.. so I stood in line. I knew the people there pretty well as I always eat there.. and yeah so I'm just watching the only 2 people there working at it. I thought that normally they should have like 3 or 4 people so what's up today? Maybe someone's missing? But anyways, I kept standing in line and like about 15 more people came in and stood behind me, and the mangaer of the place getting very nervous. One of her employees didn't come in and it was getting really busy. The next thing she saw was my face.. and the next thing she said was.... "Come in here, come to the back and help out, I'll give you free sandwich with drink and cookies" So yeah.. I was about to order my food, and I was summoned back in the back to help them out.. I was shocked. I didn't know exactly the process and the amount and the sauces or anything of subway. Sure, I've seen them do it alot but that's really nothing compared to doing it with the owner of the food staring at your work. So anyways, I guess they trust me because I've told them I had two jobs before and that I must be at least competent in putting vegetables on food and wrapping stuff up. So anyways.. I put on gloves and stuff.. and I was so disoriented.. I didn't know where to start, and I don't want people thinking how come they got this weird guy making their food. But.. I basically got into the section with vegetables and started helping people with it.... they ask what they want and I would put it on.. I was doing relatively well.. the only thing was I didn't know the difference between black olives and jalepenos.. I thought they were both olives one was like.. black olives and the other some other kind.. But thankfully I asked which one was it to the customer before I put it on :D Soooo yeah.. I was doing relatively well for the fact that that was my FIRST TIME behind the glass at a subways.. and I haven't been shown ANYTHING yet.. The second thing which dragged me down was the sauces.. since there wasn't any lables on them I couldn't tell which sauce was which so I had to ask everytime.. I felt as I was bringing everything down slowly... but whatever even if I do they can't blame me.
It's really weird what they do in a sub when they're busy.. they make a huge mess, believing that it would be faster to rush everything, while if you make a mess of everything it will hold you down in the wrapping and folding process to complete the whole process of submaking.. but anyways yeah the manager usually just like.. throws all the vegetables on while leaving a ton behind on the paper underneath.. but as a relatively neat person myself.. I couldn't do the same, I had to PERFECT everything which to me.. felt like I was a huge burden. But eventually the rush had slowed down and I had gotten used to the whole process. At the very end the manager told me to make my own sandwich and to get a drink and 2 cookies for helping out. She also put in another statement and that was, "If you come in anyday to help us out with it we'll always give you free food at the end and that would help alot. I know I just kinda pulled you out of the line today but you can keep practicing if you keep doing it," So anyways.. I basically I got a new job now at lunchtimes.. which I always thought that I was going to be going to Perfect Blend if I were to work at lunchtimes.. But I gotta say.. a free 6" sub with a drink and 2 cookies is VERY worth the time.
So anyways, now I have 3 jobs.. and school.. interesting.. I want to see how it's going to work out.
Well.. after finishing my sub and cookies, I went to the bus station and waited. To me it felt like an awkward day today so far.. and yeah stuff was just going out of order kinda. It's the same mood as Macbeth.. After waiting for 5 minutes or so the bus came and I took it to dalhousie station.. here's the weird part, right when the bus was about to stop I looked over at the 154 stop.. and it was there, just as I anticipated.. since that's the time where it's supposed to come. After about 5 second for the bus to stop and after I got off.. I glanced over to it expecting to see a big buss in the way of the pole.. but guess what... IT WAS GONE ALREADY1!??! It was amazing! It took 5 minutes for it to take off and it was already at one of the intersections..
Well.. then I thought to myself.like really extremely fast.. about 50 million thoughts at once in the matter of like a couple of miliseconds. hmm.. only about 10 minutes til I need to volunteer for vet.. and that's the only bus.. aw well what the hell. So I ran for it.. Just last week, I had started working out again.. I decided to go on a weight gain little diet/working out to see how far I can go with my skinniness. Usually in my workouts I start it off with like 5 minutes of cardio.. that trend goes way back but it became a habit. Just to get you pumped and warmed up. So.. I usually run about a speed 6.5 to 7.0 for like 5 minutes or so.. and I haven't really ran in all that long but after that 5 minutes it wasn't really that bad. I'm not crazy athletic but I'm an average guy so that run wasn't bad at all and yeah I didn't have my usual cramps which was awesome. Well anyways, yeah I think it's pretty good since I haven't really worked out in over a year and a half or so.. but that brings us back to this story.
It paid off.. I was actually REALLY fast in running. To get from the bus stop right next to the dalhousie station bridge to the intersection in less than like.. 10 seconds.. Then to get on the bus without much of a pant.. was quite impressive to me actually. But yeah.. that was actually out of wack as well.. a weird day indeed. Usually the buses correspond with each others times and they are always on time. But today.. the bus left a bit earlier and my bus was a bit late.. so like what the hell? Macbeth all over again..
Okay well anyways.. that was basically it for the out of wack stuff so far today.. The rest was just another normal vet day.. didn't do very much.. only extracted some medication, did some xray stuff, cleaned up obviously.. Refilled IsoFlourine.. which I acutally haven't told you people about yet. I get the job of refilling IsoFlourine which is an inhalent anasthetic for animals and it's suppose to be very powerful. The second you twist the cap for it off you're inhaling it and it gives you a massive headache for up to a week. So.. you have to act very quickly to twist the draining thing to it after you open the bottle.. So the next thing is that if it touches your skin for like a second, it gets absorbed really fast and then you'll also have a massive headache for a week. Sooooo, you have to be very careful not to spill any or inhale any.. I did it relatively successfully.. except for the fact that I can smell it a bit as an odour.. which means you're inhaling it.. lol. Anywaysss.. everything else is pretty boring.. got off vet at 5:30 and ate at quiznos and I found out I knew one of the guys there from school, I think his name is Reid Hubrick or something. So yeah.. got home.. slept til 9:30.. woke up.. yeah and now I'm here.
